Experience a magical evening celebrating Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, in a truly intercultural celebration that honors the diverse tapestry of our community. This free event brings together Cosmos Co-op, Naropa University’s Office of International Student and Scholar Services, and Nepali Jatra for an unforgettable multicultural experience.
What to Expect:
- 4:30 PM: Explore international student cultural displays in the pavilion
- 5:00 PM: Devotional kirtan singing with Sreedevi Bringi and students of world-musician Sheela Bringi
- Throughout the evening: A rich tapestry of performances including sitar recital by renowned Nepali sitarist Bina Shrestha, traditional Nepali and Tibetan dance, Japanese Ainu songs, Mexican dance, and an enchanting candle dance performance
- Community participation: Join in traditional Diwali dancing with dandiya sticks and tea lights (diyas)
- Delicious ethnic foods to enjoy throughout the event
